Lindie Botes’s Productivity Tools

Polyglot and language coach Lindie uses a range of productivity tools. Here’s her perfect productivity setup that she speaks about in more detail.

One of the most difficult topics in AI to navigate right now.

This is a huge buzzword thrown around in the space a lot and one that doesn’t really have much value for many people until it begins to affect their day-to-day work. Here’s some advice I wanted to share with you as some timelines recommendations for picking and choosing productivity-AI tools.

  • The word “AI” can be thrown around a bit

  • Take it with a pinch of salt and zoom out - thinking about “how will this impact my day?” — will it increase output and reduce input?

  • These questions are important because if the input is more effort for the same output it produces, eg. you have to tinker with it a lot, then is it truly worth it, or even, are you using it in the correct manner?

  • Just because a software mentions AI — it doesn’t mean it is fully designed as it says.

  • A good example of this, the value of to-do list applications spouting out sub-tasks as part of a task prompt, this isn’t as valuable unless the task is unknown.

  • A better use case of AI for task management is something like Structured, that allows you to prompt how your day looks like with a natural language prompt. This is more beneficial.

Mayday Calendar Shuts Down

There’s no coincidences in life. Mayday, a calendar app has been acquired and is shutting down on May 5th. This is a sad one.

Standard Notes Acquired

On the same note, Standard Notes has been acquired by bigger and larger Proton company that will take control of it. A good combination & partnership.
